Sharon Schamber’s Beginning Quilter’s Page

An award-winning quilter, Sharon’s quilt The Spirit of Mother Earth took Best of Show at the IQA and NQA shows in 2008.

Determining Quilt Yardage

I’ve seen quilter’s calculators that do this, but I find the whole process of figuring out yardage to be confusing. This page tells you what you’ll need!

FREE PATTERNS

Quilter’s Cache

This amazing site by Marcia Hohn was started in 1997. In addition to what must be the largest collection of free patterns online, she includes instructions and templates. Many of these are original designs, so please be sure to read the Terms of Use before downloading any of these patterns.

The Quilter Community

Sadly, this online group is no longer active. However, there is still a lot of great information and tons of free patterns that were posted during it’s heyday, which seems to have been around 2004-2005. Check it out!
